Grundfos water-pressure systems in Oxfordshire

Weak pressure across a commercial building can have several causes. We can help establish the duty, assess a Grundfos booster installation and plan maintenance or replacement without guessing from the existing pump size.

Understand the Hydro booster configurations.

A single pump, several variable-speed pumps and a centrally controlled multi-pump set solve different problems. We start with measured supply and the required flow at pressure, then discuss the level of resilience your building needs.

Equipment & application

Grundfos Hydro Multi-E

Hydro Multi-E brings electronically controlled pumps together in a packaged set. Variable demand, suitable storage and the intended duty all influence selection. We can review an existing installation or plan a new arrangement without relying on pump count as a measure of performance.

  • Packaged multi-pump system
  • Electronically controlled pressure boosting

Worth discussing forCommercial premises with changing simultaneous demand.

Equipment & application

Grundfos Hydro MPC

Hydro MPC provides a multi-pump system with central control. Different variants have different speed-control arrangements: MPC-E and MPC-S are not the same specification. We establish the exact variant, alarm requirements and standby provision before recommending a set.

  • Central control of multiple pumps
  • Specify the exact MPC variant

Worth discussing forLarger or more complex commercial water systems.

Equipment & application

Grundfos Hydro Solo-E

Hydro Solo-E is a single-pump pressure-boosting arrangement with speed control. It may be worth considering for an appropriate smaller duty, but a single pump does not provide a second pump as standby. We’ll discuss the consequences of downtime as well as normal performance.

  • Single-pump configuration
  • Consider resilience before choosing

Worth discussing forAppropriate smaller duties where a single pump is acceptable.

Equipment & application

Grundfos Hydro Multi-S

Hydro Multi-S uses a multi-pump arrangement with a different control approach from Multi-E. This is a useful distinction when identifying existing equipment or comparing a proposal. We’ll check current UK availability and the exact specification before offering a new set or replacement.

  • Multi-pump pressure boosting
  • Not the same specification as Multi-E

Worth discussing forAssessment of existing sets and suitable multi-pump applications.

From survey to handover

Grundfos installation & replacement.

We’ll ask which outlets struggle, when the pressure falls and whether demand has changed. A survey should include incoming supply, storage, distribution and the required pressure at the relevant outlets. We can then agree the booster arrangement and connection work, including how the building’s water supply will be managed during the changeover.

What we’ll work through with you

  • Incoming flow and pressure measured while outlets are running
  • Simultaneous demand and pressure needed at the furthest outlets
  • Storage, backflow protection and water-undertaker requirements
  • Duty/standby needs, electrical supply, access and noise

Looking after existing equipment

Grundfos servicing & fault investigation.

Please send the set’s nameplate and any controller alarm. We can discuss checks of the pumps, vessels, sensors, controls and associated valves within an agreed scope. Heating circulation pumps are a different application from drinking-water boosters; identifying the equipment avoids ordering the wrong replacement.

We’ll agree the visit and access requirements with you. Servicing follows the installed equipment’s requirements; any additional repair, specialist attendance or replacement parts are discussed as part of the scope. If you look after several buildings, ask us about planned maintenance.

Useful to know

Your Grundfos questions.

Can a larger Grundfos pump fix a poor incoming supply?

Not on its own. If insufficient water arrives, the design must address supply and any suitable storage as well as pressure. We assess the complete arrangement and relevant water-supply requirements before recommending equipment.

What should I send when asking for a quote?

Send your postcode, a short description of the problem or planned work, and photographs of the equipment and its model plate. Tell us about any access restrictions and important operating times. We’ll help establish whether a site assessment is needed before preparing the proposal.
