The project

Reliable heat for a temperature-sensitive process

MediaFleet contacted the Oxyplumb Commercial team because its existing warehouse heater was ageing and inefficient. Reliable temperature control is particularly important for the company’s premium vehicle-wrapping work: in cold conditions, wrapping material can become brittle and more likely to tear.

Following a site assessment and heat-sizing calculations, the team specified a Powrmatic LX 140F suspended warm-air heater for the Windrush Industrial Park premises.

Removal, supports and gas alterations

The old heater was safely decommissioned, disconnected and removed. Its redundant opening was closed with cement board to leave the building weather-tight.

Part of the existing gas line was renewed using copper Mapress pipework and fittings.
The required gas purge was completed as part of the alterations.
A new Unistrut support frame was designed and built for the replacement heater.
A structural load calculation confirmed that the building supports could safely carry the new arrangement.

Installation around a live warehouse

MediaFleet remained operational throughout the work. Two working bays were allocated for equipment and access, creating a controlled safe-working zone while the rest of the warehouse continued its normal vehicle-wrapping activity.

The team installed the Powrmatic heater, a new programmer and a room thermostat. After full testing and commissioning, the controls were programmed around the client’s operating times and the team explained how to use the new system.

Handover

The old equipment and installation waste were removed from site, and MediaFleet received a complete handover pack. The result is a correctly sized commercial warm-air heating system that supports its temperature-sensitive wrapping process with minimal disruption to day-to-day work.
